Hi Charles,
My review with some tips and tricks is here: http://lostdomain.org/2014/12/10/vmware-vcix-nv-exam-experience/ – As for material, it has been mostly this guide and the other NSX bloggers. I’m pretty close to wrapping this thing up and I’ll list a more detailed reference for some good content.
February 27, 2015 at 12:12
Martin..
I must commend you on an excellent study guide
February 27, 2015 at 16:19
Nice work on getting the VCIX-NV certification!
I see that you have used a recent version of NSX in your study notes, while the blueprint says that the exam is based on Ver 6.0.2.
Can you confirm that an older version is used in the actual exam?
February 28, 2015 at 20:21
Hi Heine,
You’re right, I cheated on a few occasions by using 6.1 instead of 6.0.x, depending on where I was when writing. I can confirm the exam is based on 6.0.x.

How can I get NSX to setup a study lab? π
March 8, 2015 at 14:08
Hi Arsalan,
At this time, you need to either have bought NSX or be a partner and have followed to NSX ICM training to be able to download it. Some rumours are going around that NSX will go public with the release of vSphere 6.0 though, I’m hoping those rumours are true.

Thanks for sharing. This is the most comprehensive study guide I’ve seen so far.

July 6, 2015 at 08:34
Thank YOU for sharing
Excellent study guide.
July 8, 2015 at 23:04
What kind of hardware did you have in your lab to POC all this up mate?
For VCP-NV I managed with VMware online labs…..
July 10, 2015 at 21:53
Hi Ryan,
I have the fortune of working for an integrator which has a fully equipped test lab. Installed my own virtual NSX environment, upgraded, abused and broke it and did that a few more times. I wouldn’t recommend only using the HOL for VCIX-NV, as you cannot do everything on there (like upgrades) that is on the blueprint.
