The amount of time I’ve spent googling commands, configuration templates, or steps to configure something is wild. As an infrastructure engineer, I have tons of cheat sheets for networking, security, PowerShell, Kubernetes, and more. Sometimes I forget what’s on these cheat sheets and resort to Google again. This is why I built AdminPatron.

Introducing AdminPatron

AdminPatron is an AI-driven assistant that can formulate anything you need as an engineer. From one-liner scripts, commands to run on Linux, or networking components, configuration templates ranging from Kubernetes YAML to networking and security devices, API calls and examples, and even step-by-step instructions on how to configure, run, or deploy a workload.

There’s a wide range of examples above, which is on purpose. AdminPatron uses the AI system called GPT-3 from OpenAI, which interprets your questions and finds the answer in a concise and precise manner. While AdminPatron is targeted towards engineers, you can almost ask it anything.

So far, it has saved me hours of putting together search results and articles to configure a firewall, deploy workloads to Azure via the CLI, build a scheduled task that reports on an Active Directory, and open up ports to an existing Kubernetes application.

I hope it’ll save you the same amount of time and from staring at Google and Knowledge Base articles. 😄

Seeing is Believing

Please create an account on AdminPatron.com, and get five questions for free and test its limits. After five questions, you can purchase bundles of 50, 100, or 200 questions for $0.10 per question. This is necessary to cover the hosting costs and the OpenAI backend. I think it’s worth it, though.

If you’re into math, here’s mine: The average DevOps or network engineer makes $60 an hour, and AdminPatron saves you ~5 minutes per question, so about $4.90 saved each search. Now multiply that by the number of googling you do each day. Profit!

I’d love your feedback, reach out on twitter or on this blog. 😃
